Tonight we begin our Easter countdown by studying the life of Christ. With our wide range of ages we are keeping things simple this year. Each day we will watch one of The Life of Jesus Christ Bible Videos online and read the accompanying scripture references. Well, I suppose I have that backwards. We will read the scriptures first each day and then watch the video that goes along. The videos are free online, can be accessed with a Roku, and there is even a mobile app so there are plenty of options for watching. You can even download each video ahead of time if desired.
We begin TODAY and watch the final video early on Easter morning before church. I’ve made a list that puts them in the order we plan to watch (relatively chronological). As we near the end of the month there are two days where we watch more than one video to keep events of the same day together (ex: The last supper, intercessory prayer, and Christ suffering in Gethsemane are all the same night).
We also have one day where we have no reading or video, the day before Easter morning. On this day we will talk with our children about how the disciples and followers of Jesus must have felt, not yet understanding He would be resurrected. How hopeless and heartbroken they must have been.
